Undead Summon Creation

Ability Scores

An undead summon starts with all stats at 10. On creation these can be bought up 1 for 1 from a pool of 26 points. With the following restrictions.

Stats cannot be bought down.

Max score 20, no more than one stat may be greater than 18, no more than two stats may be 18 or greater.

Hit Points, Healing Surges, Defenses

Depending on the class role an undead summon calculates hit points, healing surges, and defenses from the following table.

Statistic Controller Defender Leader Striker
Hit Points (level x 4 ) + 6 + Con score (level x 6 ) + 9 + Con score (level x 5 ) + 7 + Con score (level x 5 ) + 7 + Con score
Healing Surges 6 + Con modifier 9 + Con modifier 7 + Con modifier 6 + Con modifier
Armor Class 13 + level 17 + level 15 + level 15 level
Other defenses 13 + level 13 + level 13 + level 13 + level

Optionally a non AC defense may be increased by two by reducing another non AC defense by two.

Powers

If an undead summons class grants it a melee or ranged basic at-will the undead summon gets one of each.

A heroic level summon gets an at-will, an encounter attack power of it’s level or lower, and a utility power of it’s level or lower.

A paragon level summon has an additional encounter attack power or utility power.

An epic level summon has an additional encounter attack power or utility power.

A undead summon may use the Second Wind Power

Assign Feature

Based on class role an undead summon gets one of the following features.

Controller

Once per encounter as a free action, a controller can extend an effect on an enemy to end at the end of his next turn, rather than his current turn.

Defender

When a defender hits an enemy with a melee basic attack, the defender marks that target until the end of her next turn.

Leader

Twice per encounter (but once per round) as a minor action, a leader can allow an ally within 5 squares to spend a healing surge. A leader of 16th level or higher can use this feature three times per encounter.

Striker

Once per round, a striker deals 1d6 extra damage when he hits an enemy he has combat advantage against. This damage increase to 2d6 at 11th level and 3d6 at 21st level.

At creation a striker may optionally replace the requirement for combat advantage with “on a charge” or “if there are no allies closer to the enemy”.

Attack and damage bonuses

Attack: 4 +level. If the attack uses a weapon add the weapon’s proficiency bonus. Do not apply modifiers for ability scores or magic items.

Damage: Based on power, add the appropriate ability modifier and half level.

Skills

An undead summon gets training from two skills in it’s class list.
